The Lab: New Ownership
Chelsea Jung here with some big news…. I am excited to announce that I will be taking over ownership at The Lab. I am so thankful for the hard work that Lindsey has put into founding and fostering The Lab. The Lab has an excellent reputation in the greater Seattle area, and I am thrilled to become a part of the community.
A little bit about me: I live and breathe CrossFit. If I’m not at the gym, you can find me at home or at a coffee shop day-dreaming about my next trip to the gym. Over the past 6 years, I helped to build and grow a successful CrossFit gym as the General Manager. When I decided to strike out on my own, I chose to leave my comfort zone and spent months learning at multiple local gyms to obtain more diverse knowledge and perspectives. This time has taught me a lot, and I could not be more grateful for the opportunity to share what I have learned from my time at 8 different local CrossFit gyms these past few months (Shoutout to my friends at CrossFit Loft, CrossFit West Seattle, Rocket CrossFit, Foundation CrossFit, CueFit, CrossFit Felix, Jet City CrossFit, and CrossFit Outcome!!). I enjoy competing in CrossFit as well. Competing in CrossFit has taught me SO MUCH about myself and the world around me. AND, although I love the competitive side of CrossFit, I also recognize that it does not fit for everyone. My desire is to help CrossFit to fit you where you are at and where you want to go.
A little bit about my family: My husband Matt is a Seattle Firefighter at Station 2 in Belltown. He is also a CrossFitter, who focuses on CrossFit as a way to stay fit for his job. Outside of firefighting, he fosters a love affair with pastries and cooking delicious foods. Luna (my dog) is my right-hand gal, who goes with me everywhere. You will see her hanging out at The Lab just about as much as me. Although she takes a minute to warm up to new friends (she is shy!!), you will find her all but running the show in no time.
Be on the lookout for some cool new changes to The Lab. I have a few facility enhancement projects and vision goals on the horizon that are going to knock your socks off. I promise I’ll be gentle, I know change can be tough. As things start to slowly change around you, if you find yourself lost in the shuffle, please please reach out to me. I want the changes that happen to be as smooth as possible and I can only do this with your help! If you are concerned or unclear on something, that means that you are likely not alone in feeling that way.
More than anything, I cannot wait to get to know you and your story. I will be loitering around The Lab a lot (especially after I get back from competing in Cape Town early February) — you can’t miss me, my hair is bright pink. Please introduce yourself!! I will do my **best** with names… but it might take me a minute to remember everyones names, so it would be much appreciated if you could give me your name the first few times we see each other.
If you would like to schedule a time to sit down and get to know one another, please reach out. I would love to answer questions or just shoot the breeze.
All the best,
